The Dreaming Stone
Hello Fist fans. It has been some time since I have been able to post on my blog but I have been extremely busy with a lot of things in the past year. I am finally getting caught up and have been working feverishly on a new Fist story. I didn’t actually take a lot of time off writing but the writing I was doing was more exercise and experimentation than anything and I never got a chance to actually write something to completion. As a writer, you can usually feel if a story is right or not and I have been able to focus more in the last couple months and have something that is worthy of publishing concerning further tales of the brash swordsman, Fist La’brau.
The story will be titled The Dreaming Stone (unless I decide to change it at release) and I am quite confident it will satisfy Fist La’brau and Sword and Sorcery fans. Further more, it will be part of a new series. So, what kind of trouble does Fist get into this time? Well, you will just have to read the book but I will say that in this series I plan to have Fist’s exploits set more in the realm of Siernod than in the last series, Flames of Palamarr.
Also, look for another shift in the way stories are told about Fist. The previous stories were told in third person but I decided at the last minute to experiment with a first person narrative and I really liked how it flowed and so I continued with the format. The advantages of the first person format lend so many advantages to the type of stories I write being compact and to the point. It allows the reader to actually step into the role of Fist and feel what he is feeling. So when I get finished, design a cover, and get it published, this will be a fresh new story with new ideas fueled by some time between the stories to think up some new ideas.
Thanks for your patience. Look for Fist to return to print in the near future. I am liking what is emerging and I think you will too.
