ACORN Exposed….Again

Did “Occupy Wall Street” Do Much for You?

Their one demand was, “Join U.S.”, but it was kind of laughable that the people who were supposed to be the new hippies and friends of the earth decided to go occupy Wall Street this summer ended up to be some of the nastiest people to blight the terrain with refuse and destruction. “Leave no trace behind,” did not seem to be the mantra they followed. At least, this seemed to be the crowd that was showing up and was behind the movement–a movement that could not point to one ringleader.

Now, it seems there may be a significant influential entity. Remember ACORN (The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now), the organization that gets your tax dollars to help low income neighborhoods get affordable housing and so on? This is the same ACORN involved in driving voters to the polls in the last presidential election (unless they were not going to vote for Obama). This is the same ACORN that was caught on camera in a setup trying to help a prostitute avoid paying taxes. Yes, I am speaking about that ACORN!

Well, now it seems there are documents that show ACORN was a major player behind the whole “Occupy Wall Street” fiasco and some of the disgruntled employees are talking. Is this what our tax dollars are supposed to be used for? Who knows where the money came from for certain but there seems to be no doubt that an organization with their lips locked onto the federal teet also has the bull by the horns driving political events and protests.

ACORN has been firing workers and shredding documents like crazy trying to hide their involvement after the leaks started coming out. According to Fox News ACORN is operating under the name “New York Communities for Change” and, “NYCC also is installing surveillance cameras and recording devices at its Brooklyn offices, removing or packing away supplies bearing the name ACORN and handing out photos of Fox News staff with a stern warning not to talk to the media, the sources said,” according to Fox News.

ACORN Still Hangs on Like a Bad Cough

Although congress has attempted to remove funding for the alleged defunct group and they declared bankruptcy, they continue to operate under different titles in different states but some of the prominent groups are still there and they use the same tax identification numbers. Even more disconcerting, they still find ways to funnel federal money into their coffers to do stupid crap like this.

“Legal watchdog group Judicial Watch discovered that the Obama administration’s Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) issued a $79,819 grant to an ACORN offshoot, Affordable Housing Centers of America (AHCOA). …

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton told The Daily Caller this newly discovered grant appears to be in violation of an October 2009 law President Obama signed banning all funding of “ACORN and any ACORN-related affiliate.” …

“If President Obama is serious about the ACORN funding ban he signed in 2009, he’ll try to get to the bottom of this,” Fitton said, adding that Congress can withhold HUD’s funding and conduct oversight investigations into these new discoveries. “I think many members of Congress will be interested in this new development.”

Sigh, when will our lawmaker ever learn that you can’t just pass out money to appease voters then figure that it will all be okay. ACORN promoted this big event that was supposed to be against big money being used for corrupt purposes but they turn a blind eye when they take big money from the taxpayers and use it for deviant shenanigans. I guess that is what makes it okay, If you earn it the old fashioned way it is evil money but if you take it from the taxpayers, its just green paper.
