Enter, The Oklahoma Drill

Oklahoma SoonersThe faint of heart avoid it. The players with creaky bones stand and watch. It is called the Oklahoma Drill, started by legendary Sooner coach of the 47 straight teams of the 50’s, Bud Wilkinson, and it separates the men from the boys. You see players on offense and defense square off in a narrow cooridor who run and hit with a ball carrier trying to get through the chaos.

Football teams at every level use it though most NFL teams are too scared to put their high price commodoties at risk with it. This coming Monday, OU will kick off the first day of full contact practice and unveil their version of the Oklahoma Drill. Boomer Sooner!
